Gap Year Polo
'Work' in this instance is no worse than exercising a string of fabulous, top class polo ponies around an Eucalyptus shaded exercise track, under the watchful eye of two of England's professionals who Winter in Australia. Gap students will become familiar with both the breeding programme, which is in place for future Gold Cup winners, as well as the carefully managed 'Retraining of Racehorses' programme- horses are taken straight from the racecourse and gently converted to become agile, nimble polo ponies. Students will be taught on the wooden horse as well as the real thing. Accommodation is provided, as are airport transfers. They will visit the best polo clubs in Victoria (and have the chance to play). Rides on the beach and through the bush are an everyday occurrence, and to end the day gap students inevitably retire to the surf. |
